Results: 2024 FAI F3K European Championships for Model Gliders
Day 5
Waking up to on a rainy Saturday morning would have set a nice romantic tone to the day... However, this was Friday and the height of the championships! Still unclear what would happen because of the weather, organisers, jury and competitors headed out to the field, hoping for the best.
Fortunately, prayers were answered: what initially appeared to be a rainy day that would shorten the competition, ended up as a pleasant day for most of the attendees.
The fight for the top ten spots and the “grand final” was still unclear, remaining open right up to the last flight. Favourite Adrian Hucaljuk from Croatia was keeping his lead, but was closely followed by other competitors.
At the end of the day, the best ten pilots battled it out in their mission to be crowned European Champion in F3K.
The next day, the remaining five flights decided who the champion would be. Congratulations go to Henri Sander from Germany, closely followed by the “flying Dutchman” Vincent Merlijn and Adas Siumbrys from Lithuania.
Hucaljuk, the favourite from the first four days, experienced two bad rounds, and placed fifth.
