The World Games 2025
Chengdu,
The World Games, organised by the International World Games Association (IWGA), is the second largest multi-sport event in the world after the Olympic Games. It offers an excellent platform to the FAI and its competitors to demonstrate the excitement of air sports in front of the world's media. Drone racing is on the programme of the multi-sport event.
The 12th edition of The World Games will take place from Thursday 7th to Sunday 17th August 2025 in Chengdu city, People's Republic of China. The Chengdu Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will support IWGA for the organization.
For 2025 TWG, the air sports will be represented by the Drone Racing discipline.
Drone Racing is a test of a pilot’s ability to beat other competitors by racing on a specially built racing track flying through gates and around obstacles to reach the finish line in the fastest time after completing three laps. Speedy, exciting, and highly skilled, it’s one of the fastest growing air sports in the world today.
The drones are generally built by the pilots themselves and are designed for speed and agility. They are powered with electric motors by electric batteries giving possibility to fly speeds over 100 mph, meaning pilots need very fast reactions to fly them.
The drones are remote controlled by their pilot wearing googles to pilot the drone with the video feed received from the drone on-board camera. A LED light device is sinstalled on the drone with possibility to select the colour so that the drones flying in the race may be identified with different colours.
