Bio

Beginning her drone racing journey in first grade, Li practised with small drones like the Blue Bee and Little Yellow Hornet, and started participating in competitions in the Guangdong Province. She regularly made the podium, but always struggled to climb to the top earning the nickname 'the perennial second'. Rather than let it get her down, she dug deep, trained hard and studied other competitors' flight videos to analyse their successes.

By fifth grade, Li was ready to travel to Serbia to participate in the FAI Drone Racing World Cup, a "milestone experience". It was her first encounter with a 3-inch drone; her father encouraged her to focus not on the ranking, but getting around the required three laps in time to gain a score, saying "You only need to break through yourself". This determined contestant - the youngest in the competition - remained fully focused throughout almost eight hours, analysing her performances and improving her times. The judges and other athletes applauded as she successfully made the all important third lap in the seventh round. Her father shed tears of excitement, and her passion for drone racing embedded deeper into her heart.

Following this success, during sixth grade Li honed her skills at the Guangzhou league and the national team selection in Chengdu, then headed to Serbia and Bulgaria to participate in the World Cup matches. Bulgaria was tough, and Li bravely talks about striving through period pain and race setbacks which taught her to manage her composure. Returning home, she participated in the professional group competition at the Guangdong Provincial Championship. With an outstanding performance, she broke the "eternal second place" curse and won first place. Li has recently achieved the top score in the women's middle school category in the Guangdong Provincial Championship.
