Bio

After discovering the sport of drone racing at an after-school activity aged 12, the exhilarating high-speed flights attracted Yutong to continue in the sport of drone racing. Once at high school, the identity of being an athlete encouraged her to pursue her hobby to competition level.

She understands the highs and lows of racing, going from fifth in the third round at the DRA then down to 49th. At the World Cup in France, she gained a commendable 11th place, and got a place to compete at the 2024 FAI World Drone Racing Championships. Yutong's training and preparations for this big event meant that she performed very well, and she was thrilled to make it to the female finals. However, disappointment came with an unfortunate collision with a teammate meaning that she missed out on the the podium. This determined athlete did not give up. Yutong comments, "Although it was unfortunate, it motivated me to continue improving."

This positive outlook and courageous stance has served her well, and at The World Games 2025, she is hoping to prove her capabilities to the world.

Other activities

A sophomore high school student at Guangzhou No.2 High School, in addition to the pressures of studying, Yutong uses her weekends and holidays to train and participate in Chinese drone racing competitions.
